Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from The Joys!
It's hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner. We are nearly finished with our Christmas concerts "The Joys***of Christmas" and we are looking forward to relaxing with our families during the Christmas holiday.
This February will mark our 21st year of ministry together! It is amazing how God orchestrates our lives. Even before James, Vicki and I started singing together, our families were intertwined singing Gospel music in the Tidewater area. My sisters were The Johnson Sisters Trio and Vicki's dad, Blackie Spangler, became part of the Joy Quartet in the early 1960's. The Johnson Sisters and the Joy Quartet sang together quite a bit "back in the day".
We are very excited about our New Year's Day Concert with Tribute Quartet. What are YOU doing New Year's Day? We would love to have you at Virginia Beach Free Will Baptist Church with the Joys in concert along with our special guests, Tribute Quartet. The concert begins at 6:00pm, 210 S. Witchduck Road, Va. Beach, VA.
Preparations are underway for our upcoming Sing His Praises Worship Conference with Steve Hurst on March 22nd-25th, 2012 We co-sponsor this event with our home church, Virginia Beach Free Will Baptist Church. We would love for you and your group or choir to participate. Our conference leader, Steve Hurst, is the founder and director of the Steve Hurst School of Music and has served as a vocal coach, teacher, guest speaker and singer for over 35 years. Please contact us if you are interested in attending, or if you would like more information on the Steve Hurst School of Music.
Please pray for us as we select songs and make preparations for a new recording. With God's guidance and favor, we plan to begin tracking in early 2012.
2011 has been a us many unique opportunities to serve this year and we look forward to a prosperous and blessed New Year.
